NLEA Mandatory Package:
Here at Industrial Laboratories we use a combination of testing
methods to get the best results for your nutritional label. We break
your product down to a homogenous solution, which allows us to
thoroughly, and accurately test your product for information necessary
to create a print ready label that will meet FDA requirements.
The Nutrition Labeling
and Education Act (NLEA) of 1990 authorizes the U.S. Food & Drug
Administration to require nutrient labeling on almost all foods sold
in the U.S. In 1994, Congress passed the Dietary Supplements Health
and Education Act (DSHEA) to include provisions that apply only to
dietary supplements and ingredients of dietary supplements. The
FDA published the trans fatty acid rule in 2003, which is the first
significant change to the Nutrition Facts panel since the
implementation of the 1993 Nutrition Labeling and Education Act, and
compliance was required by January 1, 2006.
